Jon Henley

Features writer, the Guardian, UK

Jon Henley is a feature writer on The Guardian. In a 20-year career with the paper, he has lived and worked in the Netherlands, Brussels, Scandinavia and France -- where he was chief correspondent for nearly a decade until 2006 -- and reported from countries as diverse as Kosovo to French Guyana, Afghanistan to Iceland and Sierra Leone to Spain.

Now London-based, he is developing a form of 'open' foreign reporting that draws on social media and users of The Guardian's own website to tell, through tweets, a rolling blog and more traditional long-form reportage, the stories of real people behind the headlines in Europe's financial crisis.
